Document storage boxes are versatile, functional and an ideal way to begin your woodworking journey.

Begin by making some simple design decisions:  Application, size shape, materials, joints, techniques, construction time and cost.

Personalise your project to meet your needs and expectations and then be guided through the construction process.

Build your confidence, skills and knowledge by sketching, watching, listening, rehearsing and applying hand, machine skills.

The process commences with a rough sawn board:

Day 1)    Machine, band saw, book match, domino, glue and assemble the lid, apply the “bread board ends”, detail sand.

Day 2)  Machine timber for box carcase, domino joint sides and ends, dado and fit base into 12mm groove, glue and assemble.

Day 3)  Detail fitting, sanding, assembling of timber carcase and lid.

Construct and apply  timber hinges, fasten hardware and finish!
