Production Spindle Turning
Turning components for furniture such as occasional tables, dining tables, coffee table, beds, lamps, or architectural installations such as stair cases, fine cabinetry, or the batch production of turned products for craft markets and fairs is a tremendously satisfying skill.
Woodturning is deeply rewarding because when you employ sharp chisels, sound techniques, modern technology you can achieve excellent results in no time.
Spindle turning beads, coves, tapers and flats requires the mastery of three chisels. These include a gouge, skew and parting chisel.
When you can confidently shape simple projects such as handles, stirrers, knobs, rolling pins then its time to move on to furniture components coffee table legs, floor standing and table mounted lamps, dining table legs and beds.
Architectural woodturning significantly up scales size of materials but the principles remain the same.
This class is suited to participants with some experience, however, if you wish to enrol as a novice and start with the fundamentals you are most welcome.
