Woodturning Basics

Timber robots are a creative, fun project that includes some great foundation skills and are a terrific gift for children.

They should include motion, colour, numeracysound, simple mechanisms  and create some inquiry and further investigation.

This activity is suitable for beginners who are seeking woodturning and routering techniques skills.

It’s an ideal project to utilize those small off cuts that typically are cast aside and left to gather  dust or worse end up as kindling.

Glue small blocks into squares that can be wood turned for body parts.

Timber Robots can involve:

Simple plans, measuring, drilling, boring, woodturning, sanding, taping and threading, assembly and finishing techniques.

This is an ideal beginners class that will enable you to start immediately, provide an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the workshop and learn some essential foundation woodworking skills.
