The Location:
The Dream Timber Cutting Board class is held in a 19th century hop kiln in the country capital and heart of the Derwent Valley at New Norfolk.
In the mid 1800’s the hop kiln bustled with the activity. Tons of aromatic, green hops were dried and baled on site before being sent off to Cascade Brewery.
Today the agricultural building serves as a boutique woodworking school and accommodation.
Your Theme
Crafting beautiful timber cutting board in a unique historic setting
Surrounded by hop growing history and finishing with a craft beer.
You’re Tutor
Teaching the craft of making timber and metal projects has been my working life.
I was classically taught to plan, teach, assess and report on student progress in Australia and England. I have been awarded State and National awards for my contribution to Technology Education.
Kaye and I have accrued almost 80 years of full time teaching largely spent here, in the district, in the beautiful Derwent Valley.
Relationships, friendships, family and community are the cornerstone and foundation of our boutique woodworking school and provide the basis of the knowledge, skills and experiences that we extend to visitors.
